Route Description
The Divji potok circular educational trail has a starting point in the village of Črmošnjice, in the parking lot at the CŠOD (School and Extracurricular Activities Center) Lipa, at 410 m (1,345 feet) above sea level.
When you happen to be in the White Carniola region (Bela Krajina), do not miss out on this trip. The 3-kilometer (1.15-mile) long circular path takes you past the picturesque Divji potok Stream to the village of Srednja vas. This location is indeed a hidden pearl of Slovenia.
The Divji potok Stream with its catchment basin above village of Srednja vas near Črmošnjice has formed a varied and picturesque streambed in the predominantly dolomite bedrock with many small waterfalls, stream pools and rapids. The stream mostly flows through a forested area. After 3.5 kilometers (2.3 miles) of a somewhat torrential course, the Divji potok Stream flows into the Črmošnjičica stream.
The trail features various didactic toys, water animals and beautiful smaller waterfalls. The water and wet shores are home to the stone crayfish and fire salamander. Woodpeckers, middle spotted woodpeckers, white-throated dippers and many other birds live in the crowns of the predominant beech and hornbeam trees.
Interesting Facts
A special feature of the Divji potok Stream is the precipitation of the tufa rock that is excreted from water rich in calcium carbonate. Tufa settles on mosses and plants, creating rapids, waterfalls and other obstacles in the riverbed. With tufa excretion, rapids and waterfalls are constantly changing and growing, and ever-higher falls give the water more power to create pools.

Mila and Staš Recommend
The children recommend you put on your rain boots because the trip includes many puddles. This will make the exploring much more fun and carefree (for moms especially ;)).
Our kids loooooove to jump into every puddle they come across :).
