Route Description
Lipica is the oldest European stud farm, which breeds one of the oldest cultural breeds of horses. As such, it carries an exceptional importance of cultural, historical and natural heritage for both Slovenia and Europe.
Experience Lipica in a special way with a visit to the stud farm. Get to know the history of the stud farm all the way from its foundation until today. Find out everything you wanted to know about Lipizzan horses. Make friends with them, and also with their dark foals.
Admission to the stud farm allows you unlimited access to the grounds of the Lipica Stud Farm during opening hours.

Many centuries ago, a story of love, pride, and beauty began at the green Lipica estate. This new show of the Lipica Classical Riding School narrates the story of the exceptional stud farm heritage, the white Lipizzan horse, and its connection to the rider. Are you up for a visit to the karst underground?
The vicinity of Lipica hides several karst caves: Kalčevska jama Cave, Dolga jama Cave, Polhkova peč Cave, Velbenca Cave and Lipenska jama Cave (137 metre/449 feet deep and 662 metre/723 yards long), which is the most famous one. Nearby lies the 1300-metre (1421-yard) long cave Vilenica, which is probably the oldest tourist cave in the world, as it had guided tours since 1633. Cave Vilenica is a highly recommended location for families with young children.
